This absolutely adorable girl is my sole rep at Tri-City Prep, and she’s a stunner! Meet Valerie! Since she’s rocking her super cute overalls, let’s talk about these nineties-comebacks and how to wear them! Overalls are totally having a fashion moment, but not every pair is flattering! We love these tips:
Short Overalls: Choose a pair that covers your rear end, and be sure to bend over/sit down in the fitting room to make sure you can move around in them! Light distressing is super chic, but giant holes are just tacky! Make sure the straps adjust for the perfect height and coverage. We love light wash short overalls paired with a classic, fitted white tee, a cute crop top, or a sleeveless chambray tank for a denim-on-denim style!
Long overalls: Opt for a pair with fitted or skinny legs, and not overly baggy. A dark wash is universally chic, and looks great with anything your favorite skinny jeans would pair well with. We especially love button down plaid shirts underneath, or plain tees. Mock neck turtlenecks can dress overalls up with a fun neutral shoe!
Length and Fit are Key: For a skinny cut overall, leave a few inches of ankle showing, and add a shoe with a moderate heel (like an ankle boot or retro clog), and for short overalls, a 3-4” inseam is a good rule of thumb (think fingertip length or longer when your arms are by your side). They should fit comfortably without riding up or drowning you in fabric. Valerie’s (below) are a great example of the perfect overall!
