Sheila is a gorgeous graduate from Kiona Benton High School…she was a dream to photograph, with her stunning eyes and flowing hair. She’s clearly nailed the art of adding some bohemian style to her session, but maybe you’re wondering how you can do the same. Here’s some handy tips to pulling off a beautiful, natural bohemian look (and affordably, too)!
-Ditch the matchy-matchy sets…those are for more retro or academic looks! If you want a bohemian look, utilize colors like cream, taupe, mauve, pink, and white. These tones will add an airy, pretty feel to your session, and will pick up natural light from the sun and the outdoors. Crochet pieces also add a bit of a bohemian feel, especially things like this cute, inexpensive top that you can layer over just about everything!
-Layer on accessories: Whether you choose bangles, a floral or metal headpiece, or long, faux stone necklaces, accessories are a fast and frugal way to add interest and texture to your outfit. They can take even jeans and a tee into look more akin to a wandering gypsy soul! You can find a really cute floral headband here, and it’s under $5!
-A great bohemian look isn’t just for summer! You can snag a wool fedora and a jacket with a crochet detail like this one, to transition into warmer weather. Add some ankle boots and tights, and you’ll be warm and stylish.
