I’d like to introduce you to the fabulous ladies from Richland High School! Gah! I cannot believe I have such beautiful gals representing me and my photography this year…I feel super honored. I also don’t know about you, but the summer heat is doing a number on my hair! During summer, my hair gets more dry, hard to manage, and frizzy…I’m sure I’m not alone. I wanted to talk about a hair routine real quick, then you can get on to the gorgeous photos of the Richland High School team!
Refinery 29 is one of my favorite hotspots for beauty trends, fashion advice, and practical life tips, and they had an awesome article on hair routine. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t have much of a real “routine” other than washing/drying/styling! Turns out there’s a bit more you can do! Here’s a few of their professional tips:
- Ditch your voluming spray in favor of a dry texture spray. Volumizing sprays can actually weigh hair down and increase damage.
- Apply a heat serum before you use your heat stylers: Your salon or stylist can probably recommend a good brand, but Aveda makes a great heat serum that’s really lighweight and lessens damage to hair as you style!
- Know what your hair needs: Did you know that moisturizing and hydrating don’t mean the same thing? I didn’t. One nourishes the hair, one topically shines and moisturizes…if you have dry hair, you need both.
Okay, enough about hair! On to the pics!
