Something that I love about my senior shoots (c’mon, let’s be honest, I love just about everything!) is that these seniors I get to meet and photograph are so diverse, and so talented! They seriously juggle so much in school, and yet, they are still finding ways to grow and learn in the middle of such hectic schedules. Rilie is one of those seniors. Not only did she manage to participate in competitive softball, Key Club, and Buddy Club, she overcame debilitating migraines that caused her to miss half of her junior year. Her fierce spirit was truly inspiring. Fittingly, she said the three words that describe her are, “competitive, leader, and focus”, and I see why. Her work ethic and strength carried her to excel in softball, and she hopes to play at the University of Washington Parkside. “I want a photo in my softball uniform”, she told me, “because to me, it represents me playing for something bigger than myself”. I love the way that photo of her holding the bat (scroll down to see) came out…it really shows her strength and fire, in such a graceful way. We also managed to snap some photos in her dressier outfit, which was GORGEOUS with the sunlight. Rilie, you inspired me with your tenacity and ability to overcome various things to achieve what you have. The University of Washington will be so lucky to have you!
I’m getting ready to welcome the next class of seniors, but I feel so lucky to be still working through the images from the mighty Class of 2016…they are bright, smart, and BEAUTIFUL!
