“When I was in cheer for the first time”, says Mckensie, “There was just no feeling like being on the field cheering our boys!” The pretty Kennewick High graduate asked me for an urban shoot, and she chose some fierce outfits (those wedge booties!) to accent the chic surroundings. But for Mckensie, a nursing school hopeful, senior portraits represented much more than just a high school memory. “The way I look at my senior year is a new beginning for me. I went through an extremely rough last year”, she says, “From then till now…I am so proud of myself. I feel now after taking steps (getting accepted into the nursing program, losing weight), it’s like I’m starting the rest of my life and I would love the new-and- improved and happy me brought out in this shoot. I want it to be like the new me has bloomed and is no longer hiding.”
I love transformation stories, and absolutely adore how Mckensie’s newfound confidence and beauty were so exuberant in her shoot. I am so glad she has found herself, made amazing and brave decisions, and can move forward in such strength and courage!
