I’m sure you’ve heard it said that it takes a special type of person to be a nurse. It’s true. To hold the hand of a dying patient, or to be a resource for families and communities, or to endure the rigorous academics…it takes a strong person and a caring one. What a beautiful and inspiring young woman this graduate is! Kelsey is a graduate from the competitive nursing program at WSU Tri-Cities, and has an impressive G.P.A. of 3.82. She wanted a photo session to celebrate her hard work and I loved working with her to get these gorgeous images.
Besides nursing, Kelsey enjoys playing soccer, volunteering in her community, and being a mentor in the nursing pathways program. She says her strongest characteristics are her sense of humor, her energy, and her compassion. Kelsey says her greatest obstacle has been the financial commitment that is nursing school, and she worked hard through the program to earn money and graduate…it says a lot about her hardworking spirit. “In twenty years, I want to be remembered as a caring, loving, and selfless nurse that saved some lives. My personal hero is my mom, because despite personal adversity, she continues to live a full life and always stay positive”.
I loved meeting this new nurse, and I know the medical field couldn’t be more lucky to have her as an asset. Her caring spirit and kind heart will bless many. Thanks Kelsey, for letting me celebrate this achievement with you!
