Way back in her freshman year, Ashlee saw the photos I did for my daughter’s senior year, and began dreaming of her own senior shoot. That’s how many of my clients come to me; through word of mouth and seeing the photos across social media…it is such an honor to be the photographer for so many beautiful seniors over the years, and I love when they share the fun! Ashlee is graduating from Pasco High School, where she manages to juggle a packed schedule with her rigorous academics. She does a lot of volunteer work in her community, including work at a local horse ranch, and also is the vice president of the Tri-Tech pre-nursing program. As with many of my seniors, she overcame bullying in high school. She says that the actions of bullies in her school made her realize she had to love herself, and “not worry about the things people say”.
“I’ve learned to look at the positives in things”, she explained, “I think that’s one of my best traits. I try to look up to people like my grandma, who overcame many hardships in her life and still had a huge heart. Overall, I want to be remembered as someone who gave back to my community”. After graduation, Ashlee plans to attend WSU, and enter their veterinary program.
I’m so proud of young women like Ashlee, who refuse to let bullies or other’s opinions color their perceptions of the world. Instead, they go on to do amazing things and pour out their hearts to their cities and their schools. Ashlee, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!
