They say if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. I am always honing my craft, and trying to become a better, stronger photographer and artist, but I do agree with this in some ways. I believe senior photos don’t need crazy airbrushing, or the latest technological fixes. What are truly genuine photos if they don’t have your REAL smile, or the way you look when you laugh? You can airbrush out the tan line you got this summer, or the way your eyes crinkle when you get excited, but those are the things that make you…you. They are part of your story. Part of your senior year. Part of who you are.
I also believe that a photo can look stunning RIGHT off the camera, rather than with tons and tons of editing…I try to get it right the first time. Yes, I do edit and help adjust minor blemishes or shadows, but my senior clients are just stunning as they are. Girls like this one, Alexis, make me so appreciate natural, genuine beauty. She is a senior at Tri Cities Prep, and is involved in softball and pep club. She is a strong student in both science and math, and and hopes to attend WSU in Pullman after she graduates. When she started at Tri Cities, she only knew one person. It forced her to spread her wings, and she gained confidence and “learned to branch out” as she made new friends. Alexis says her personal style is comfy, casual, and stylish, and she wore the cutest dresses and rompers for her session. I loved the neutral colors and feminine cuts she chose…she looked amazing and really fit into the outdoor locations we picked.
